Hi there, Oscar here. Let me introduce m​yself​ to you online… for now.  Hopefully, we’ll meet in person in the near future.

As a kid, I tended to be quite obsessed with film, tv, and all things moving imagery. That being said, my surroundings were always nudging me in the direction of other creative passions and I never considered filmmaking an actual possibility. Never, until all changed at 16 years of age when I picked up a camera for the first time with an explicit creative goal in mind.

After completing my high school education, I took a gap year to ponder where I wanted to study, work on submissions necessary to get into said universities, and freelance as a filmmaker.

I ended up securing places at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and Ringling College of Art and Design, receiving a Dean scholarship for the latter, in fact.

Though honoured as I was by getting into two top 25 ranking film schools of the US, I decided I would not become the filmmaker I set out to be through formal education and declined both offers.

So, I took another gap year, freelancing, writing, and self-educating. And another one after that. And a couple more thereafter. I’ll probably still be counting them when I’m 80.

As a director, I’m gen-z trend-focused, visually technical, and I try to put the talent’s performance first.  I do my utmost to make sure that no aspect of the piece is random and no decision is made without reason.

My aim as a writer is to develop a modern flavour of dialogue-heavy storytelling, catered to the times we live in. Specifically, I’m exploring stylised dialogue in hyperrealist cinema. My approach has been inspired by writers such as Quentin Tarantino, David Mamet, Aaron Sorkin, Guy Ritchie, and Martin McDonagh, to just name a few.

Enough chit-chat for now. I could ramble on and on for a few pages more but it wouldn’t, and shouldn’t, matter, because really the only thing that matters is where it’s at.
